Platform disclaimer
Effective 15 October 2026. This disclaimer applies to the Ontolix platform provided by Ontolix Pty Ltd ("Ontolix", "we") and to everything it produces, including answers, findings, summaries, tables, reports and exports. It forms part of our terms. Your organisation's agreement with Ontolix also applies.
What Ontolix is
Ontolix is an AI-enabled decision-support and information analysis tool for construction projects. It reads the drawings, specifications, models and other documents your organisation connects, organises what it finds, and answers questions about them with references to the source documents.
Not professional advice
Ontolix does not provide engineering, architectural, building surveying, construction, safety, financial, legal or other professional advice. Its outputs do not replace the judgement of a suitably qualified practitioner, and using Ontolix does not create a professional relationship with Ontolix or anyone else.
No compliance determination or certification
Ontolix never determines that a design, product, building or document complies with the National Construction Code, an Australian Standard, a regulation, a permit condition or a contract, and it does not certify anything. When Ontolix compares project information with a rule or standard, the result is an item flagged for review. Findings are worded as "Possible issue against" or "No issue found against", never as a pass or fail.
A flagged item can be wrong. The absence of a flag does not mean something complies, because Ontolix can only consider the information it has been given and the rules it has been asked to check.
AI outputs can be wrong
Outputs are generated with AI models. They can be incomplete, out of date or incorrect. They can misread a drawing, attribute information to the wrong source, or miss information that is present. Their quality also depends on the documents your organisation connects: Ontolix cannot correct a source that is wrong, superseded or missing. Check every output against the cited source documents before you rely on it.
Exports are drafts until reviewed
Documents Ontolix produces for use outside the platform, such as HSE packs and submittal registers, are AI-assisted drafts. They carry a notice saying so, and HSE packs stay marked DRAFT until the start-up is validated. Ontolix leaves review and sign-off fields blank for a person to complete and never records a sign-off on anyone's behalf. A qualified person must review a draft before it is issued or relied on.
Your decisions remain yours
Decisions about design, construction, safety, procurement, commercial and compliance matters remain with you, your organisation and your qualified advisers. Have a suitably qualified person review any compliance, safety, design or contractual question before you act on it.
Using Ontolix through another assistant
If your organisation lets you reach Ontolix from another AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, that assistant writes its own answer from the information Ontolix returns. Ontolix does not control that wording. This disclaimer applies to whatever the assistant presents from Ontolix, and the assistant provider's own terms also apply.
Where you will see this notice
The platform shows a short version of this disclaimer at the foot of the menu on every page, beside the link to our terms and privacy notice. Answers that contain findings or compliance content, finding cards and the HSE start-up view carry the notice "AI-generated decision support. Check the cited sources. Not engineering, legal or certification advice." Exports carry their own notice.
Your rights and our liability
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Your organisation's agreement with Ontolix sets out each party's liability.
